Hull City Vs Sunderland: Player Ratings

Every week we rate the Sunderland players' individual performances, and often you hate them and disagree completely. Here's this week's source of disgust for you.

Victor Fraile

Keiren Westwood - 5

Did nowt wrong whilst he was on the pitch really.

Phil Bardsley - 4

Still in the 'points deducted for being him' phase of his rehabilitation. Played his part in second half resolve, though.

Carlos Cuellar - 2

Matchwinner. The little sh*t.

John O'Shea - 6

Stood his ground well after the break. Good continuation of his derby performance.

Andrea Dossena - 0

His tackle was stupid. Moreover, it was a disgrace to the club, the fans, and the game itself. Pleased Meyler was able to walk away.

Lee Cattermole - 3

I have a lot of sympathy for him over his red card. 80% who he is rather then what he did, as demonstrated by Robbie Brady getting a yellow for a similar, yet worse, challenge later on.

Jack Colback - 3

Barely noticed he was playing.

Seb Larsson - 3

Pointed his heart out. Not really what was needed.

Fabio Borini - 2

Just not involved in the game at all. Felt he was shoehorned into a bad system on the back of derby winner.

Steven Fletcher - 5

Toiled manfully and won some very clever free kicks to relieve the pressure.

Jozy Altidore - 2

Just not his day at all. Form and confidence becoming a real worry.

Vito Mannone - 7

Excellent after he came on. Pulled off some great saves when in firing line. Impressive.

Wes Brown - 6

Nice to have him back. Probably won't last long, but he made a difference at the back.

Adam Johnson - 6

Was disciplined on the left in the second half, defending well and providing some threat the other way. Good response to being dropped.

Man Of The Match - Vito Mannone

Has had to wait for his chance but the Italian was in fine form to repel a second half onslaught on his goal. His defence did well in front of him, ensuring it was only really long range efforts and crosses he was required to deal with, but he did both splendidly. Should also mention he has now done that Westwood hasn't managed yet this season - kept a Premier League clean sheet (of sorts). Rare positive on a wretched day.

There'll be more match reaction in our stream HERE on Monday, so check it out.
