Bolton Wanderers Vs Sunderland: Confirmed Lineups

The FA Cup Third round is upon us, and here's the team news from the Reebok Stadium as both sides look to turn their seasons around with a decent showing in the world's most famous knockout competition.

Martin O'Neill seems to have realised that his players have been suffering from fatigue recently, as he makes a few changes to the team. However, it's nothing too wholesale, although it doesn't reflect well on Matt 'Frank Spencer' Kilgallon, who is spared another battering at the hands of Bolton.

It appears to be like-for-like with the changes, as Titus takes his place at the back, with Phil Bardsley coming in at right back, and Craig Gardner moving into Sess's position behind Fletcher.

What is interesting is Sunderland not filling out their bench. Is there a bug at the club, or it is Martin O'Neill's subtle way of reminding Ellis Short that reinforcements are required?

Sunderland (4-4-1-1): Simon Mignolet; Phil Bardsley, Titus Bramble, Carlos Cuellar, Danny Rose; Sebastian Larsson, David Vaughan, James McClean, Craig Gardner, Adam Johnson; Steven Fletcher

Substitutes: Keiren Westwood, Fraizer Campbell, Connor Wickham, James McFadden, Matt Kilgallon, Jack Colback

Meanwhile Trotters boss Dougie Freedman has opted to keep a few of his arguably bigger names on the bench, and too makes a few changes. Sunderland fans may well be happy to only see veteran frontman Kevin Davies not starting, but should be absolutely delighted that Chris Eagles will be sat alongside him. The former Manchester United man is essential to this Bolton outfit, and it may suggest that Freedman's priorities lay elsewhere this season.

Bolton Wanderers (4-5-1): Andy Lonergan; Joe Riley, Zat Knight, Sam Ricketts, Marcus Alonso; Darren Pratley, Keith Andrews, Chung-Yong Lee; Marvin Sordell, Martin Petrov, David Ngog

Substitutes: Adam Bogdan, Tyrone Mears, Tim Ream, Kevin Davies, Chris Eagles, Jay Spearing, Chris Lester
