Reports: Defender 'Officially' Set To Seal Sunderland Loan Switch

Reports emanating from the Middle East suggest that Kader Mangane is now on the brink of joining Sunderland on a 6-month loan deal.

Martin O'Neill appears to be on the verge of securing his second swoop of the transfer window after it was reported that Al-Hilal have 'officially agreed' to allow Kader Mangane to join Sunderland on loan.

According to the report, the Senegalese central defender will head to Wearside on a 6-month loan deal with a view to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

The monolithic former Rennes man only joined the Saudi Arabian club last summer, but it has been suggested that he is seeking a move back to Europe due to his wife suffering some medical difficulties.

Once again, this is a deal that has developed quickly, and credit must go to the club for acting so decisively so far this month. Clearly, a lot of groundwork and homework has been going on in recent months.

We'll keep on following this one to a conclusion.
