Sunderland today submitted their 25-man squad to the Premier League, although left four spaces open as they registered all 21senior professionals currently on the books.
We had speculated that this might be the case earlier in the week that this would be the case, and leaves a few spaces for free agents, as unlikely as that might be in the next few weeks.

The likes of Blair Adams, Jordan Pickford, Ji Dong-Won, Connor Wickham, John Egan and Ryan Noble have not been registered in the squad as they did not need to as they fall into the category of under-21 players.
Ahmed Elmohamady, currently on loan at Hull City, was also not registered. There is a recall clause in Elmohamady's loan which enables him to return in January, at which stage squads can be re-jigged.
Danny Rose has also been registered having arrived on loan from Tottenham Hotspur on deadline day.
