Fourth choice 'keeper Ben Wilson has become the second Sunderland fringe player to move out on loan after he joined League Two side Chesterfield on an emergency loan.

The 'keeper has risen through the ranks at the club and has impressed at youth and reserve level, but has for a while now been in the shadow of Jordan Pickford as far as 'young keepers coming through' go. This was further emphasized in Korea where the pair of them saw game time in the 3-2 win over Groningen, with Wilson doing ok, but still out-classed.

Not that this should bother him too much, and at Chesterfield he should give him some much needed first-team experience, even if he is only on the fringes.

Chesterfield have seen first-choice 'keeper Tommy Lee go down with injury, and Wilson will contest with Richard O'Donnell for the first team spot over the course of the next month or so.

Craig Lynch also moved out recently to Hartlepool United, and more are expected to follow in the next few weeks.
