Despite the fact he's currently injured, Phil Bardsley has received a call up to the Scottish squad for their game Australia at Hibernian's Easter Road ground next Wednesday.
As with other players called for international duty during this organised break, we'll be hoping - if he plays - that he'll remain free from injury with the games scheduled at a pretty stupid time on the eve of the Premier League season. That's FIFA for you though I suppose.
On the plus side, it could be an indicator that Bardsley is closer to fitness than we think, as you'd have to imagine Craig Levein has had a word with Martin O'Neill prior to his selection.
Currently with out a club, former Sunderland 'keeper Craig Gordon misses out on a call up, but former defender Alan Hutton and alleged target Matt Phillips are called up. Steven Fletcher's international absence continues.
