With goals in short supply at the moment, and number one target Steven Fletcher seemingly no closer to moving to Sunderland, reports are coming in from the local area that a second and final bid in the region of £12m has been lodged with Wolves for the Scottish international.
The Express & Star claim the bid will be the final one made by us, meaning the ball is very much in the court for Wolves to accept or decline.

Obviously Wolves don't have to allow their leading man to leave the club, nor do I claim to have an intimate knowledge of the clubs finances, but £12m is a very healthy some of money to be coming into them, and with us seemingly the only side to have made a firm offer, Fletcher's value may never be higher than it is now.
We've talked at length, almost to the point of boredom about how much a striker like Fletcher is needed by us, how much we want him to come, and how we think that eventually one day it will happen, however this report does seem to be carrying weight and perhaps by the end of the week we'll know one way or another if Fletcher will be a Sunderland player.
Jez Moxey, the Wolves Chief Executive, expressed last week that the club "don't need to sell their best players" at the moment, while the sale of Michael Kightly to Stoke City this week has done little to reassure the Molineux faithful that he's a man of his word - here's hoping that Moxey once again goes against his word and we get the player we've chased all summer long.
