The draw for the third round of the Captial One Cup has been made, and will see Sunderland travel to Milton Keynes to take on the MK Dons after victory over Morecambe in the last round.
The third round of what used to be the League Cup is when teams in Europe enter the competition, so we can be thankful that we avoided any of those and got a team which offers us a good chance to get through to the next round and make a real fist of this years competition.
Sunderland will travel to Stadium:MK for the first time in the week commencing 24th September after the League One side beat Blackburn Rovers 2-1 in the previous round.
The Dons have a number of familiar names in their squad, including former Newcastle star... Alan Smith and recently signed former Hull City midfielder Jimmy Bullard, and will represent a step up in challenge from Morecambe, but as we say, still an excellent chance to get through.
