Kevin Ball has been moved up at the club and now takes the roll of Development Squad manager.

Updating the earlier article (click here to have a read) in which we told you about Keith Bertschin and Stephen Clemence moving on to Hull City with former manager Steve Bruce, there was some speculation about who would step into the roles of Development Squad manager, however the club have moved quickly to appoint from within.

Kevin Ball, one-time caretaker manager of the first team, legendary former player, and more recently highly regarded coach of the Youth Team will make the step up to Development Squad level.

It's a good move for the club, as Bally coached many of those in the newly formed Development Squad through the youth system, and will continue to work with the same faces on a regular basis as he molds them for the first team.

Meanwhile, Craig Liddle, formerly manager of Darlington has taken on the role of Youth Team manager. Craig has worked with young players before at Darlington, and prior to taking the lead role at the club was the manager of the youth side. Upon being appointed manager, he immediately brought through many of the youngsters he'd worked with, and is believed to have a very good eye for young talent.

Best of luck to both of them in their new roles.
