Contribute Your Tales To Our "My First Game" Feature

Was your first game here? Or maybe at the Stadium Of Light? Come and give us the story of your first Sunderland game.
Was your first game here? Or maybe at the Stadium Of Light? Come and give us the story of your first Sunderland game.

As you may well have read on this site before, we like to get you the reader involved too, and we're offering you the chance to share your stories with us in the occasional feature "My First Game".

We've done this previously, with games ranging from the mid 2000's back to the 1940's, so we're looking to hear from people of all ages. Whether your first game was last week, or the last century, it doesn't really matter.

You can have a read of the previous ones here;

My First Game #1 - Sunderland 1-0 Norwich City, 2004
My First Game #2 - Sunderland 1-1 Blackpool, 1949
My First Game #3 - Sunderland 1-0 Liverpool, 1997
My First Game #4 - Sunderland 3-2 Charlton Athletic, 2001
My First Game #5 - Sunderland 2-3 Tottenham Hotspur, 2001
My First Game #6 - Sunderland 0-0 Coventry City, 1981

Some pretty corking reads among those, and it would be great to hear from you and have you contribute your own, so here's what we're looking for...

This feature is open to anyone. Whether you're 5-years old or 50-years old. If your first game was last season or eleven seasons ago, it doesn't matter so long as you can remember it. We want to hear from you in a minimum of 500 words (you'll find that's not much once you get going, and feel free to go on as long as is neccessary) is what it was like. What was the game like? What was the score? What was the atmosphere like, and what made you comeback for further bites of the Sunderland cherry?

If you're interested, email us rokerreport@gmail.com and we'll be happy to publish it on the site, with full credit given to you.

Coming up this afternoon on the site, our own David Boyle will recount his own first Sunderland match, just to keep the ball rolling and perhaps inspire a few of you (if you aren't already!)

Don't be shy, come and get involved!
