It's been announced that Sunderland will take on Leicester City this summer as the lineup of preseason friendlies takes shape. Also the first game of our jolly to Korea for the 2012 Peace Cup has been confirmed.
The game against Leicester takes place at their King Power Stadium on Saturday 11th August with a 3pm kick off, just seven days before the start of the Premier League season.
Foxes boss Nigel Pearson had this to say on the game;
Sunderland have a squad full of Premier League quality and, as their season starts at the same time as ours, they will be at a very similar stage of their preparations. I'm sure both teams will be keen to perform at a high level and it should be an exciting game.
Tickets for the game will go on sale in the next few weeks and cost £10 for Adults, and £5 for concession if you're a Season Card holder for next year, or will cost £12 and £6 respectively if you aren't.
Our first opponents of the Peace Cup have also been confirmed, and we'll be taking on Seongnam on at the Suwon Stadium in Korea on July 19th. The time still to be confirmed, as is the second game, but we're getting there.
