The Roker Roundup: May 2nd 2012 - Angeleri The Next One Out?

News rules everything around me.
News rules everything around me.

Welcome back for a Wednesday edition of, The Roker Roundup. The feature where we bring you all the SAFC news from today, just to keep you up to date with it all.

Today's May 2nd, and on this day in history, in 1917 the legendary Johnny Mapson was born. The keeper played for us for over twenty years after being propelled into the side following the untimely death of Jimmy Thorpe. He even won the FA Cup in 1937, doing so before he was even twenty years old. He was also known for his calmness and cleverness, and was always unfazed by the opposition.

Back to the modern era, here's today's news...

With one flop in Cristian Riveros out the door, the club are looking to get rid of fellow South American crapbag, Marcos Angeleri. Despite having some simply stunning hair, the skills haven't quite been there for the Argentine, and hopefully he gets off the books pretty soon - CLICK HERE

Martin O'Neill has stressed that he won't be drawn in to picking up any "one hit wonders" from this summers Euro 2012 tournament, preferring to close in on targets he's already scouted and got in mind - CLICK HERE

Niall Quinn may have left, and been spending a fair bit of time on Sky Sports, but has insisted he isn't on the look out for a return to football at a boardroom level after being linked with a move back to former club Manchester City in a similar role to what he had here - CLICK HERE

And finally, on a very, very slow day we have the fact that Al-Ain have allegedly been told they're gonna have to stump up another £10m if they want to keep Asamoah Gyan at the club - CLICK HERE
