Writers For Robson: Bloggers Vs Journalists Charity Game Tomorrow!

Head down to Hebburn tomorrow to help support the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.
Head down to Hebburn tomorrow to help support the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.

Last year we here at Roker Report had the pleasure (despite having to play in black white stripes) of playing in a charity game in Birtley in aid of Japanese side, Cobaltore Onagawa. A local side in Japan who's town was destroyed during the recent Tsunami.

After the great success of last year, the game is on again, this time in aid of the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, and it's taken a new twist!...

Last year nearly 300 people turned up to support a team of journalists and bloggers taking on a team of Northern League fans and players, and we saw our team unluckily beaten 6-3. I don't think I need to remind anyone of my glorious assist for one of our goals, but I just did anyway.

Anyway, this year the game is back as said, and this year it's bloggers AGAINST journalists at Hebburn Town FC tomorrow lunch time.

You'll find all your favourites from blogs such as In Bed With Maradona, Leazes Terrace, Ekstraklasa Review, Footy Ramblings and a whole lot more taking on a team including Richard Mason, Paul Fraser, Iain Macintosh, Simon Bird and many more. Sadly circumstances have dictated that we are unavailable, but will be sending moral support to everyone involved in what is a great day of football.

If you can get yourself to Hebburn tomorrow, get down and show your support. It's only £3 to get in, kick's off at 1:30pm and every single penny form the gate, and the awesome raffle, where you can win a signed Sunderland shirt among other things, go to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation. A very worthy cause.
