The Roker Roundup: April 5th 2012 - Bruce: Everyone's Fault But Mine

Sorry For News Rocking
Sorry For News Rocking

Alreet. It's time to bang out some news that's been happening in and around the club, in the feature we like to call "The Roker Roundup".

Today is of course April the 5th, and on this day in 2003, with relegation all but confirmed for weeks, Sean Thornton struck a memorable goal against Chelsea in a 2-1 defeat at The Stadium Of Light. It was the first Sunderland goal scored by someone other than Kevin Phillips since the middle of January.

Back to today though, here's today's news...

Steve Bruce has been quick to remind everyone that he still exists, by poking his head into The Chronicle, just to you know, remind us all that it was our fault he got sacked, he got us to tenth once, and all the usual tripe the potato-headed clown usually spouts - CLICK HERE

In current matters, magnificent Man-God Martin O'Neill has told everyone in no uncertain terms that star duo Stephane Sessegnon and James McClean are not for sale, so get lost - CLICK HERE

Nicklas Bendtner has been speaking too, claiming he's a bit bored up here in the North East, and barely leaves the house as there's so little to do. I can't believe it personally, doesn't he know there's a Nando's just across the bridge? - CLICK HERE

Another in demand striker is Ryan Noble, who Hartlepool United boss Neale Cooper wants to keep at the club for an extended loan period, and maybe even next season if he can. A move that I feel would suit all parties, so here's hoping it happens - CLICK HERE

After venting our fury at the debatable penalty won by Edin Dzeko last weekend at the Etihad, we've been fined. You know what would curb this sort of behavior properly? Decent refereeing - CLICK HERE

And if you're going to the Stadium Of Light this summer to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers, top local band The Futureheads are going to be in support. Get your tickets and more info from the club site - CLICK HERE
