Ahoy me hearties, it's time we brought you our roundup of all the SAFC news that's been happening today, plus a little from over the weekend too since it's Monday and there's a chance you missed something.
First of all though, let's get today's trivia out the way. Today is April 30th, and on this day in 1990 Kenneth McTaggart Chisholm died. We told you his story a couple of weeks ago in a previous Roker Roundup, so you can go over there and read about the former inside left and World War II bomb commander.
For now though, here's the news you may have missed...
Good news for James McClean as he's been told by Ireland boss Giovanni Trappatoni that he's 90-99% sure of going to the European Championships this summer after a remarkable rise from the League of Ireland to the Premier League this season - CLICK HERE
Another person going somewhere looks like being Asamoah Gyan. The striker, currently on loan at Al-Ain in the UAE, has hit 17 goals in 15 games over there, and the club have stated their very confident of keeping the Ghanaian at the club for the foreseeable future - CLICK HERE
Also potentially on the move is Connor Wickham. The Sunday Sun speculated at the weekend that the young striker may return to Ipswich Town on loan next season in order to gain some valuable first team experience. A short term loan might do him the world of good - CLICK HERE
With all these strikers going, who are we going to bring in? In a recent interview the gaffer has admitted he'd love to bring in a player akin to Atletico Bilbao forward Fernando Llorente, although admitted that he may be just slightly out of our league - CLICK HERE
And while we're on strikers, Martin O'Neill has said that it would be brilliant if Fraizer Campbell lined up for Great Britain in this summers Olympics. Quite the opposite of many managers who don't want their players involved in this summer's tournament - CLICK HERE
According to the Daily Mail, Craig Gordon has been told that if he wants to stay at the club he'll have to take a significant pay-cut as Celtic wait in the wings for the Scotland stopper - CLICK HERE
Ryan Noble was back in scoring form for Hartlepool United this weekend as the clubs official website round up all the action our loan players have been involved with. It's the kind of thing we'd like to do here, but we just can't be bothered. Maybe next season - CLICK HERE
The Sunderland Ladies team, not content with heading to the Womens League Cup Final next month, have also won the league, so a huge congratulations to them - CLICK HERE
And lastly, the final name has been added to the Peace Cup lineup this summer in Korea, which we will take part in. FC Gronigen of the Dutch League are the final participants, along with ourselves, Seongnam and Hamburg. O'Neill has previously won the competition as Aston Villa manager - CLICK HERE
