Hurrah! It's finally Friday, and before you all go relax and enjoy yourself, do us the honour of checking out the Roker Roundup. Our daily roundup of all the SAFC news and rumours that have been coming out today.
Today is, and always will be known as April the 27th, and on this day in SAFC history you'll find that Sam Ellison was born. Sam played as an outside right for the club between 1946 and 1947.
In today's news though, here's some more interesting tidbits...
I think it would be widely accepted by fans that Junior Hoilett would be an excellent signing this summer, and The Mail are running with that after linking ourselves along with Bayern Munich and Marseille to making a move for the Canadian born forward - CLICK HERE
A cheaper alternative and similar style player would be Blackpool's Matt Phillips. We're in the mix for him, along with Aston Villa, Bolton, Celtic and a host of others. I think this one however would depend on whether or not 'Pool get themselves promoted this season - CLICK HERE
Mag's striker Papiss Cisse reckons he could have been a Sunderland player. Or so the headline of this story would suggest, when merely we're little but a footnote alongside Fulham and Bayern Munich - CLICK HERE
A familiar face to these pages, Michael Graham, casts his eye of the career of Darren Bent. As a Sunderland fan, you'll be happy to read it as it turns out just as expected - CLICK HERE
Over at RTG, Sharkey's Shadow is taking a little bit of pleasure in the demise of Coventry City. I'll be honest, financial meltdown and relegation couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of people - CLICK HERE
The charges against Lee Cattermole for damaging some cars in Newcastle have been dropped after the skipper accepted he did it and agreed to pay for all the repairs/costs etc. Hopefully he has learned his lesson now, and will be more wise int he future - CLICK HERE
Fraizer Campbell has been speaking of his frustration at his recent form, and is hoping he gets a chance to turn things around and end the season on a high. If that sort of thing interests you - CLICK HERE
