Today's March 22nd, and on this very day, Chris Waddle finally made his debut for Sunderland nearly 18 years after being rejected by the club following a 2 week trial. Sunderland faced Nottingham Forest at Roker Park in a relegation scrap but neither could pick up the vital win and, 5 weeks later, both were relegated.
