Strike a light guv'nor, it's Thursday Match 15th, and we're back as ever at 6:30pm with another Roker Roundup for you to sink your eyes into.
As I pointed out, it's the 15th of March, and on this day in history in 1922 Egypt became independent from the UK. In 1888 the Anglo-Tibetan war began, and in 1897 Tom Bradshaw was born in Hambleton, Lancashire. Bradshaw played as an outside right for Sunderland in his time.
Back to the matter at hand though, here's today's news, on what has been a slow news day...
Ah, Steve Bruce. He's everywhere at the minute, and still wittering on about how he was hounded out of the club for being a Geordie and we really should have put on an open top bus parade for a tenth place finish. In this interview in today's Mail, it's a shame Bruce didn't speak about his awful record as a manager instead of blaming everyone and everyone. Wes Brown. Impressive player eh, and a fantastic bargain for just £1m, anyone can see that. Not the knuckle-draggers at TalkSport, who have in in their Flops XI - CLICK HERE
Fraizer Campbell has been told he can wait on a new contract. Fair enough I think. Despite the England breakthrough he's only just got back in the team and doesn't appear to be unsettled or anything like that. Might as well continue with the season and get it done later - CLICK HERE
The ressies take on Everton tonight at Eppleton CW. Keith Bertschin has named a relatively youthful squad for the game, which includes recent Carlisle United loanee, Jordan Cook - CLICK HERE
If you can't get to Goodison Park this weekend, head over to the Stadium Of Light and watch the game in the sports bar with hundreds of other fans on massive screens. Done this before and it's well worth it - CLICK HERE
