Your evening news bulletin on all things SAFC.

Welcome along you to a new feature on the site, its really just a quick roundup of all the happening's in the world of Sunderland AFC on a daily basis, coming to you every week day at 6:30pm.

No more need to wonder if you've missed any news or stories, as we'll be hunting down anything worth noting or reading and bringing them right to you.

So this is our inaugural one, let's see what's happening today, February 6th. A day on history noted as the day several Manchester United players, and many other passengers and crew were tragically killed in the Munich air disaster. Also in 1918, women over the age of thirty were given the right to vote, and in 1894 Sunderland defeated Everton 1-0.

Now you've got all that, your SAFC news awaits...

We're all enjoying our current run of excellent form, and perhaps even some of us are once again daring to dream of a European placed finish. The Football Transfer Tavern are somewhat even more excited, and point out three reasons why we could finish TOP FOUR. I know, right? - CLICK HERE

Anyone know the price of a flight to Kumasi? Niall Quinn's been over to visit our international partner club, Asante Kotoko, and said "he'd like" for the team to head over at the end of the season. For a friendly? I don't know. Read more though, and look at some pictures of Sir Niall and some other blokes looking at stuff, on Kotoko's website - CLICK HERE

Since we're not being nominated for any awards, recently anyway, some of our friends are, so why not vote for them! A Love Supreme head honcho Martyn McFadden has been nominated as a "Wearside Icon" in the SUN FM Style Awards, and Frankie from (and The Heartstrings fame) has been nominated as "Trendsetter 2012" so go vote for them both. It'll be us next year I tell thee - CLICK HERE

Recent trialist Zlatan Muslimovic and former crowd favourite Bolo Zenden will NOT be joining the club Martin O'Neill has said. Wayne Bridge and Sotirios Kyrgiakos used up the last two spots in the 25-man squad, and for some reason Marcos Angeleri holds one of them too. Find out more - CLICK HERE

It would seem that Giovanni Trapattoni is set to go back on his previous expectations that he would be unlikely to make any amendments to his current Ireland squad set to take part in the summer's European Championships as James McClean's continuing success looks to force him to reconsider. At least that is what BBC Sport were reporting this lunch time. No quotes from Trapattoni himself but if McClean's impressive form continues there is no way the Italian could overlook the talented winger. Read all about it - CLICK HERE
