Sunderland have taken yet another unknown potential talent on trial in the form of midfielder Tom Oostinjen, who currently plys his trade in the Dutch third tier.
The 21-year old, who can also play at right-back, has expressed his shock at the potential move to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf;
This is a chance I only will get once in my life.
I will do everything what I can do make a good impression. Even if I have to leave the training pitch puking.
Whilst I'm not sure that puking by the side of the training pitch will be beneficial for his chances, it's good to know that he will be doing his utmost to earn an unlikely place in the squad.
Little is known about Oostinjen, although it's reported he has also featured on trial for Go-Ahead Eagles in the Netherlands without earning a contract.
Interestingly one media outlet is reporting that we will be playing a friendly against partner club SK Lierse in January. Whether this is a behind closed doors kind of thing or simple a case of crossed wires as to our relationship with the Belgian club, who knows. Either way, it seems most likely that if he does sign, he'll be headed straight over to Belgium.
