Manchester United Vs Sunderland: Confirmed Lineups

Today's game at Old Trafford between Manchester United and Sunderland isn't far away, and we have all the team news on what looks like being a difficult afternoon for the Black Cats.

Clint Hughes

Martin O'Neill was forced into changes to his lineup as Phil Bardsley, Lee Cattermole and Wes Brown all continued to sit out with injury. The biggest one to miss out though is the beautiful football man-God that is Danny Rose, who couldn't shake off the injury picked up against Reading. Adam Johnson however does manage to play.

Titus Bramble also comes in for a start with Carlos Cuellar moving to right back.

Sunderland (4-4-1-1): Simon Mignolet; Carlos Cuellar, John O'Shea, Titus Bramble, Jack Colback; Seb Larsson, Craig Gardner, Adam Johnson, James McClean; Steven Fletcher, Stephane Sessegnon

Substitutes: Keiren Westwood, Fraizer Campbell, Connor Wickham, James McFadden, Matt Kilgallon, David Vaughan, Louis Saha

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson had the luxury of being able to recall captain Nemanja Vidic to the team, but didn't feel the need to chuck him in from the start.

Balding butterball and petty grudge holder, Wayne Rooney, starts in attack with Robin Van Persie.

Former loanee Danny Welbeck also joins Vidic on the bench.

Manchester United (4-4-2): David De Gea; Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra; Antonio Valencia, Michael Carrick, Tom Cleverley, Ashley Young; Wayne Rooney, Robin Van Persie

Substitutes: Anders Lindegaard, Ryan Giggs, Javier Hernandez, Nemanja Vidic, Danny Welbeck, Paul Scholes, Darren Fletcher
