Connor Wickham has been called up to Stuart Pearce's England Under-21 squad for next week's friendly against Northern Ireland at Blackpool's Bloomfield Road, but Danny Rose has been left out.
Both players featured prominently in the Young Lions' last game against Serbia which sealed qualification for next years summer Euro 2013 tournament, with Wickham bagging the winning goal and Rose unfortunately the subject of some unnecessary and unfair abuse from home fans and players.
Elsewhere in youth news, promising young goalkeeping talent, Jordan Pickford, has been called into the England Under-19 squad for their game against Finland in Telford, and is likely to start the game.
