Irish International Moves On Loan To Hull City

Sunderland's Irish international midfielder David Meyler has joined Hull City on loan for the remainder of the season.

It was a move which was long-touted during the summer, but David Meyler has finally joined Hull City on loan until the end of the season.

The very likable midfielder will link up with a few familiar faces at the KC Stadium, including former manager Steve Bruce and fellow loanee Ahmed Elmoahamdy who is also there until the end of the season.

Meyler has often looked promising in the limited time he's had on the pitch, but has been well surpassed in the eyes of Martin O'Neill by David Vaughan, Lee Cattermole, Jack Colback, Seb Larsson, Craig Gardner and others in a fiercely competitive position on the pitch.

We shouldn't write off Meyler though just yet. He could well have a future at the club, especially after proving his versatility this season operating perfectly well at right-back in the Peace Cup and in central defence against MK Dons in the Capital One Cup.

Getting regular football at Hull though will serve him well in the long-term. Here's hoping he progresses further and can establish himself in the first team picture next year at the Stadium Of Light.
