Simon Mignolet - 7
Didn't have a huge amount to do, but he bounced back well from his disaster of a game against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday. Called upon for one big moment in the first half to save well from Jamie Mackie, effectively winning us a point.
Phil Bardsley - 6
A decent if unspectacular game from Bardsley as he continues to make his come back and retain a position in the team. One things which was noticeable about his game which he never really used to do well was covering the back post, which he managed quite well in this one.
Carlos Cuellar - 6
Not a whole lot to do tonight, but appeared to be strong in the tackle and kept with Cisse well all night. Solid and unspectacular.
Matt Kilgallon - 6
Making his first appearance of the season, Kilgallon's night could have gone either way. Thankfully it went well, or as well as could have been expected. Didn't have an awful lot to do. Disappointing lack of Rabona's, which would have livened up proceedings.
Danny Rose - 9
Once again the on loan Tottenham Hotspur man proved his class with some superb play up and down the left hand side. Great defensively as we've come to expect and just as good going forward where he provided more threat than some of our midfielders. Turning into a real gem of a player.
Seb Larsson - 5
Strangely it was Larsson who took up a central role while Gardner was pushed out wide. Larsson didn't really manage to make much of an impact from a central role. Really ought to have swapped with Gardner at some point, but that's not our decision to make.
Lee Cattermole - 5
This is basically what we start every player off on, and they go up and down from it. Cattermole did nothing in the few minutes he was on the pitch. We only hope he isn't out for a few weeks now as a result of O'Neill's gamble.
Craig Gardner - 5
Once again didn't have a great deal of joy in midfield, and at times was completely isolated and inactive on the right hand side. This wasn't the most disappointing thing about his game however, that was reserved for his freekicks - all of which were wasteful on a night where precision was required over power.
Adam Johnson - 5
Didn't find himself particularly involved in the game and it was little surprise to see him brought off with 20 minutes to go. Didn't seem to get himself motivated, and certainly a regression on the last couple of performances from our expensive summer signing.
Stephane Sessegnon - 5
After upping his game over the last few weeks and pledging in the press to get more goals, we didn't see a continued good performance, nor did we see any goal threat from Sess. A below average night for the Beninese attacker.
Steven Fletcher - 7
Had to feed on scraps yet again, but on his brief glimpses of the goal he came close. Very, very few positives to take from the game, but at least Fletcher looked sharp and on another day would have had one, maybe two.
Jack Colback - 6
Not quite a resurrection of a performance, but certainly an improvement over recent weeks. Had to play nearly the whole game after coming on as an early substitute for Lee Cattermole. Needs to continue though and not slip back to the way he's been for most of the season.
James McClean - 5
Came on late for Adam Johnson and had just about as much impact as the man he replaced. A couple of crosses we're whipped in at a nice pace but miles away from any targets in the box.
Louis Saha - 5
Just another Louis Saha no-show. Utterly pointless.
Man Of The Match - Danny Rose
Another great performance puts him out as an early contender for our player of the half season. Here's hoping Spurs don't realise just how good he is and can flog him to us at a decent price. We need to get him tied down to a proper contract as soon as possible. Great stuff again all night from him. A joy to watch on an otherwise rough night.
