After talks with Scotland boss Craig Levein, Steven Fletcher is back in the Scotland fold.

After a long-running row between himself and his (adopted) country, Steven Fletcher has been named in the Scotland squad to face Wales and Belgium in the forthcoming round of 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

It's a complete about turn from Craig Levein, who has obviously found Fletcher's incredible early season form too good to ignore. In what seems like a lifetime ago back in May 2012, Levein said of the sitution;

There's no going back on this. That's it. Finished. Done.

However following talks via a third party, Fletcher is back in the fold for his national side as Craig Levein named his squad this morning;

Following talks with third party I spoke to Steven Fletcher last night and he is in the squad.

The longer I thought about it I thought "nobody is winning here".

No apology was made, but it was made clear through a third party that Steven wanted to be in the squad.

It's proving to be quite an incredible turn of form from Levein in the matter of a few months, and regardless of who this mysterious third party is (we happen to suspect Martin O'Neill) it's great news for all parties. Scotland are in desperate need of a good goalscorer, and not only is Steven Fletcher one of the top Scottish ones around, but one of the top ones in the Premier League at the moment.

Soctland also welcome back Darren Fletcher and Scott Brown to the squad.
