Sebastian Larsson Will Sign For Sunderland... Or So Says His Dad

The one we'd all kind of forgot about looks like being sorted out very soon. With SAFC fans being caught up in the mystery, intrigue, and all round bullshitting coming from Twitter etc about the likes of Mikel Arteta, Didier Drogba, Baftemi Gomis, Lord Beaverbrook, Barbara Cartland and The Ghost Of Princess Diana etc all apparently coming to the club, we forgot about one of the first we were linked with - Sebastian Larsson - looks set to become a Sunderland player at last...

Seb's father, Svante, has been mouthing off in Swedish Newspaper 'SportsExpressen' that his son will arrive by this time next week.

According to Larsson Senior, Seb has agreed terms and his fondness of Steve Bruce is the main factor in the move, with the two having previously worked together at Birmingham City.

Bruce has apparently been chasing him since January, with the 26 year old happy to reject the likes of old club Arsenal, and other massive clubs like Aston Villa. The lure of playing week in, week out proved too strong.

Personally, I'm damn pleased to have a player of his caliber come in. I've always thought he was a very good player, and will add lots to our midfield. He has excellent set piece delivery, which is fine and dandy, but aside from that he's generally a very good player with a good motor, and a good passing ability.

Where he'll slot in, I'm not 100% sure, but more than likely he'll take the spot vacated by Jordan Henderson as a winger-come-central midfielder.

I've no doubt this Swedish signing will be more Stefan Schwarz than Rade Prica.

A very solid addition, and although it's not 100% sorted out yet, the fact that we've had some quotes from someone directly connected is very encouraging, and it doesn't look like there's any chance of it falling through... I hope that's not the kiss of death anyway.

How do you feel about Larsson's impending arrival?
