Roker Riches: West Ham (A) Betting Preview

And so it's here, the last Roker Riches of the season. A column which has certainly had its ups and downs as it tries to establish some sort of identity... I started it, then Gavin Callaghan, once of BetFred came aboard and provided some excellent tippery. Then it became a challenge between me and the missus, and eventually I stopped asking her opinions and cracked on alone. All in six short months.

In between all the chopping and changing we've actually had a fair few winners, in particular when we got beat off Tottenham Hotspur at home, where we advised you to bet on Asamoah Gyan scoring first in a 2-1 defeat at odds of 125/1.

Roker Riches will be back next season, and we've got plans on what the hell we actually want to do with it, but for now we will carry on regardless trying to bring you some last day joy, in the pocket anyway...

So here we are, in one of the dullest games going this weekend against the already relegated West Ham United. Of course, a win does nothing for them other than salvage the last scrap of pride, where as for us, if by some miracle happens, we could come as high as 9th... All that considered, there's still bugger all to play for in reality.

The stats don't make for too pretty reading either, as all signs point towards a draw to me, as head to head stats leave us nearly equal on all counts. They have 1.3 goals per game, we have 0.9 for example. Red cards, yellow cards, corners, hell even throw-ins are all just about equal. This all leads me to the 1-1 draw, priced fairly decently at 6/1.

Carlton Cole & Demba Ba lead the way in regards to first scorer, and to be honest, I can't really look past them. Ba is in very good form, and Cole is Cole. A terrible player, destined to no doubt scorer an absolute pearler against us. You can get 5/1 on either of them, whilst our best offering is Stephane Sessegnon at 13/2.

Looking around for a more positive bet, I'd look at Jordan Henderson for first goal, he's played very well recently and got forward more than he ever has, making his 11/1 chance look quite enticing.

All this said however, it's the last Roker Riches of the season as we mentioned at the top, and we're gonna be positive and back the lads to win. Take the above advice if your looking for some serious investment, however if you're a regular punter like myself, then this is our randomly plucked from nowhere, best bet going, and where our money will be headed this weekend...

Roker Report's Best Bet: Jordan Henderson Scores First & SAFC win 1-0 @ 70/1

Why the hell not eh?

Whatever you bet on, good luck, and thank you for reading Roker Riches over the course of the season. We'll be back next year, and we promise to be a bit better at this!
