Roker Riches: Sunderland v Fulham (H) Betting Preview

No official winner last week in the actual selection of best bet, but I do notice in the section jsut before I made the selection, I pointed out Draw HT/SAFC FT at 4/1, which came in. Chalk it as a win? Damn right I will. I'm Sunderland, and much like those on the pitch, I'm taking a win in any way possible.

This week, Fulham come to the Stadium of Light, and it should be a tough game with Fulham sitting in 9th position, and boasting a good defence whilst on their travels.

Time to see if I can find us a winner this week. Be lucky everyone!...

The thing that instantly pops in to mind with Fulham is their stingy defence away from home. Only Chelsea (17) & Manchester City (19) have conceded less than Fulham (20) on their travels. Coupled with the fact we've no out-and-out  strikers apart from the inexperienced Ryan Noble & Craig Lynch, you'd not be too badly placed to think 0-0 on this one, which is a 15/2 shot.

However, without strikers we managed to pop three goals past Wigan and the lads should be on a massive high going into this one, backed by 40,000 fans full of renewed optimism.

There's some cracking odds available on BetFred right now, where they seem to have not noticed Asamoah Gyan & Danny Welbeck's injuries.

Stephane Sessegnon, likely to continue in the lone striker/trequarista role on Saturday is a monster 8/1 to get the first goal, whilst if you fancy Jordan Henderson's rich form to continue, he's available at 16/1.

One I'd probably avoid however is Ryan Noble at 7/1 for the first goal, especially since I don't think he'll be thrust into action from the first minute. Craig Lynch is available at 15/2, which is even more mental since Noble is firmly ahead in Steve Bruce's pecking order.

If you fancy Fulham to win, I think you're best served with Draw HT/Fulham FT at 5/1.

However for our best bet, I'm gonna keep the following in mind - Fulham's stingy defence, our lack of strikers, and my Sunderland bias....

Roker Report's Best Bet: Sessegnon first goal, SAFC win 1-0 at 40/1

Whatever you choose this weekend, I hope it comes off. Provided you've chosen something favouring Sunderland!
