Senior Physio, Dave Galley will continue to be a busy boy this week, as Sunderland's injury problems mount up.
Having just had his treatment room at the Academy Of Light cleared, FOUR more were added to the injury list following the weekends fixture with Liverpool.
Sulley Muntari & Kieran Richardson limped off within the first half an hour, as Steve Bruce revealed to the Daily Mail that both Phil Bardsley & Anton Ferdinand also picked up knocks.
Going into what detail he can at this early stage, Bruce said of the foursome "Phil will have a scan this morning on his knee. Ferdinand's is a straight kick - he should be okay. Muntari's is a calf injury and Richardson's is a hamstring."
Bruce also went on to express his concerns about Danny Welbeck, who was withdrawn on the hour and isn't 100% match fit. Bruce said of the young striker "I will have a conversation with Stuart Pearce over Danny Welbeck and the Under-21s. I did have a conversation with Stuart, who was only going to play him in one game anyway. I am sure he will be sensible enough with him."
It seems however that the main problems lie with Bardsley (who I suspected wasn't his usual self) and Sulley Muntari, whom Brucey has advised would be better served not linking up with their respective national teams this week.
It never bloody rains...
