Roker Riches: Arsenal (A) Betting Preview

This weekend Sunderland look to end their losing streak as we head down to the Emirates stadium to face an Arsenal side who have their best chance in years, of winning the Premier League title.

Having said that, the Gunners don't enjoy the best of times against the Wearsiders - just one win in five to their name and Steve Bruce will be looking to do his former mentor Sir Alex Ferguson, yet another favor in the title race.

Steve Bruce's side always knew this would be a difficult period in the season and the injuries have made matter worse. The disappointing thing for Sunderland fans has been the lack of firepower up front, and questions are already circulating as to why Bruce failed to bring in a short-term striker.

Arsene Wenger's side have had a mixed bag this week. After the heartbreak of the League Cup final, they sat and watched as Manchester United threw away all three points at Stamford Bridge, before booking a trip to Old Trafford in the FA Cup on Wednesday.

As for the game at the Emirates - I fancy Sunderland to leave with a point. Bruce enjoys a good record against Wenger and sets his teams up to go like-for-like. But for Cesc Fabregas' freak goal at the Stadium of Light, Sunderland could have made it successive home wins in the league against the title chasers.

It's also good news for those making the long trip south tomorrow - the days of the Black Cat's capital punishment are over. Sunderland are unbeaten in London this season having claimed maximum points in impressive style at Stamford Bridge before draws at Tottenham and Fulham.

As for prices I would take a look at the following bets:

Arsenal 0-0 Sunderland at 11/1

Double result of Draw-Draw at 6/1

Half Time bet of draw at 11/8.

A £1 treble on all three games would win you £21.38. Or a £5 bet £106.88. Well worth having a punt on what should be an entertaining game.

I'll be at the ground tomorrow so if you're in the away end then tweet me @gavin_callaghan and it would be good to meet up and toast the lads as they do battle with the Arsenal.

Enjoy the game and whatever you're on, the very best of luck.
