Roker Report: What's Going On!!?!?

Well, consider this a little Q&A conducted by me, which will answer some questions about the site at the moment, and what will be happening in the near future. If you're a fan of Roker Report, then it's best you have a quick read. If there's anything I've failed to address, then leave a comment and I will do my best to answer. Thanks very much for taking the time to read this important announcement...

Where's all the pictures?

I've taken down about 95% of the pictures from the site, and we won't be using any for a week or so.

Why?

SAFC and Getty Images issued a Cease & Desist order for breach of copyright. Which is fair enough, like any starting blogger I pulled images from Google Image Search, and it eventually caught up with us. I'm happy SAFC are even aware of us. Also, I'm sure SAFC are reading this, so once again, I unreservedly apologise.

Well, will you be getting pictures in the future?

Yes. Next week (fingers crossed) we will eventually be moving to SB Nation, as I've hinted at in several articles. On there we have our own agreement with Getty Images, and the license to use them at will, without fear of any copyright laws catching up with us. Apologies if the site looks a bit bland in the mean time, the same top-notch writing will be here though!

SB Nation? Who are they!?

Well, you might not have heard of them yet, but you will soon. They are a blogging network, and they pool together the best blogs from the internet to help spread that clubs word.

How big are they?

How does 90 million hits per month sound? And significant backing from venture capitalists who first funded Facebook, as well as ComCast Cable. 90m! Think of all those potential SAFC fans we could reach!

So, you're going to be Billy Bigtime eh?

Not at all, very little will change from a content perspective, as we will continue to (hopefully) provide you with the best SAFC news, views opinion and analysis on the internet.

But what's in it for me, the reader?

Well apart from getting the same great content, you can help create the content. There are features such as FanShots and FanPosts, where you can put your thoughts. Got a picture, video, or some sort of long article to show us? Do so! If we think it's any good we'll put it on the front page and it will be a featured article on Roker Report.

So do I have to sign up?

No, you don't have to sign up, but you can't post FanShots/FanPosts etc without being registered. Registry is completely 100% free.

Will Roker Report look different?

Yes, it will. It will look better as it's been properly designed, as opposed to a WordPress Template like what we are currently using. There'll also be a new logo, and a messageboard for you to get inolved with should you so wish. The only things that remain the same are the content, and the domain - www.rokerreport.com - no need to change your bookmark (because you've all bookmarked it, right?)

And when's all this gonna happen again?

Back end of next week I'm told. In the mean time, sit tight.

So, that's about it really. If there's anything else you should require, just leave a comment and I'll answer as best I can.

Thank you for reading.
