Roker Riches - Stoke City (A) Betting Preview

Betting expert Gavin Callaghan battles against Mrs Roker Report to see who has the best record. No winners last week in best bet, but don't let that deter you! Gavin's had many winners so far this season, so take the advice we offer...

Asamoah Gyan: Gavin's backing him to score last...

Trips to the Britannia Stadium are never the most exciting and far from being the first that fans pick out when the fixtures lists are drawn up. The reason being is obvious; forget what you may have heard in politically correct commentaries, they play horrible football. Don’t believe me? Just ask Eidur Gudjohnson. It, incidentally, is the same from commentators who suggest Bolton are not a dirty side anymore yet their visit to the SoL just before Christmas put that notion to bed!

So needless to say that I’m not over excited about this one and believe it has draw written all over it. The key to these games in recent years has been keeping the away side quiet. In fact, as BBC Sport reports, no away team has scored in this fixture in the last 5 meetings. Doesn’t bode well.

Then again Sunderland haven’t suffered back-to-back defeats this year in the league and are looking to make it three away wins on the bounce.

Asamoah Gyan enjoyed his tussle with this lot bagging two goals in the home tie and I think he will step up again, If Sunderland are to hold on to sixth this year, and that looks even more uncertain now Liverpool have found a new lease of life, then games such as away at Stoke are pivotal. The Black Cats must come away with just a point.

I fancy the game to be close and 1-1 with Gyan scoring last for Sunderland @ 40/1.

While we're on the subject of goals, I have seen many tweets and reports this week regarding BetFred’s Goals Galore coupon. As a punter myself I don’t really understand the problem – it is clearly football’s best bet. Take Tuesday evening for example, 37 games and 116 goals scored. BetFred paid out £1.4million. Not really sure he can do much more to keep punters happy! What is more, this type of pay out has been indicative of what he has been doing every single weekend with the football league being the most unpredictable and attacking then ever before. I say, get involved and win some money!

What ever your bets this week, the very best of luck!

Callaghan's Best Bet: 1-1 with Asamoah Gyan scoring last @ 40/1
