General Sale for NON Season Card Holders..

Or rather the lack thereof.

I live in Surrey, Greater London to be more precise. I moved down south when I was fifteen and haven't had a season card in eleven years. Why? Because for many of them I couldn't even afford one. Now the reasons are similar but more convoluted; I have kids, I have responsibilities that keep me from a 600 mile round trip every other weekend. This, apparently, means I don't qualify to support my team.

Whenever Sunderland play away nearer to my location, we're talking Chelsea, Arsenal, West Ham, Spurs, Palace, Southampton, you name it, I think to myself "Fantastic. I'll dash online and grab some tickets." Except that I'm not a Season Card holder. So, after FIVE phases of sales to a majority that actually live a relative stones-throw away from the SoL, each with varying degrees of loyalty apparently, I and others like me are offered a meagre (and I'm being generous there) chance of a General Sale.

It never happens.

This leads me to our opponents official websites, whereupon I discover that in order to buy tickets in the oppositions end (jumper on, coat zipped up and all that shite) I have to pay a membership fee to that club. That's right.

So I suppose what I'm trying to say here is that due to circumstances beyond my control but very much within the control boundaries of SAFC, I'm effectively an outcast, not entitled to support my team because despite the fact I've got the money and I'd pay to go to at least a dozen of our 38 games a season, "There are only so many tickets allocated.." and I don't live in Sunderland. Feels like a big fuck you, to me.

Especially considering they've been lucky to have supporters for the last five years.

Anyone else think this is bollocks?

Are you making a FanPost? Well that's fantastic, just keep it tasteful.
