We are always immensely humbled by the amount of people who ask us whether they can join the regular Roker Report writing team. Well, now could be your chance.
We are looking for a new writer to join the bunch. It's quite a specific role in the sense that the new writer will be expected to weigh in heavily in terms of match coverage, particularly home games. For regular readers of the site, we are talking about reporting the confirmed line-ups before the game, producing a quick match report and compiling player ratings. So in that sense it may be best-suited to a passionate exile, but if you can commit to covering games then you're fine with us wherever you are!
Of course, the role isn't just restricted to match-coverage. As part of the regular team, you'd be given a voice on the site and the freedom to use it largely at your own discretion. Opinion, statistical analysis, tactics, humour... it's all welcome.
Following Sunderland is, as we know, a naturally gruelling and utterly demoralising ordeal, and we can't pay you in anything other than opportunity and appreciation. Therefore, boundless enthusiasm is pretty much recommended. It would be an ideal opportunity for someone looking to build a portfolio to move into a career in football writing, or even juts someone who has a passion and wants to serve it. We'll certainly give you the platform for both.
Anyway, if you fancy throwing your name into the hat then feel free to email us at RokerReport@yahoo.co.uk telling us what you have to offer and enclosing a sample piece of your choosing!
