Against the Scousers

I think I had this down as a 1/0 in my weird arsed scoring system and gave Sunderland almost no chance. So I reckoned brilliand Sunderland would take a point and shite Sunderland would take no points. But with a split of 1 point or none, anything but brilliant Sunderland was going to come away empty handed.

But, that's not to say that shite Sunderland did show up, they didn't. I think it's fair to say that random Sunderland showed up for the first half and made a couple of 'not concentrating' errors, then good Sunderland (ney, almost excellent Sunderland) showed up in the second half.

Problem is, as I saw in a main piece, the team appears to be in denial about the situation that it's in. And it's true, quite simply excellent Sunderland has to turn up for all the remaining matches and for both halves...

Anyway, credit where credit's due. Congratulations for the second half performance against Liverpool. And lets not forget that the loss was by a single goal, so the GD hasn't gone awry like Arsenal's has... Liverpool could theoretically have spanked Sunderland properly. It's a testament to the Sunderland that showed up, that Liverpool didn't spank them.

That second half Sunderland has to show up for another 18 halves...
