It's make or break time.
The table is looking mighty crowded where Sunderland are. Sunderland are now being held back 2 places because of that inferior GD. Worse still, teams below can catch up or leap frog with a win. That would undo all the hard work so far and put Sunderland slap bang in the middle of nightmareville again.
So a win is required. For Hull, the situation is near identical although they've not had to deal with the constant relegation psychology that the Lads have. Win and you put Hull in a bad place. Can the marshmallow dig them out of there? Maybe. Can the team itself dig themselves out of there? Who knows? So, it should be some sort of battle royale today.
Sunderland playing like they did in the derby should ensure the points. Hull want those point badly, make no mistake.
I could go on about the permutations in todays matches, but frankly, Sunderland have it in their power to make any of those permutations completely irrelevant. Use that power, BEAT Hull and make other results meaningless..
