After dishing out some love for Fabio Borini and Adam Johnson his post-match press conference, Gus Poyet didn't forget the good work of Liam Bridcutt, Ki Sung-Yeung or Jack Colback today;
The way we were set up was good. It was important to have Liam [Bridcutt] in place as we knew Lee [Cattermole] was going to miss the game and we needed some stability in midfield to let the rest of the players to get forward.
As the game went on Ki [Sung Yueng] was more and more influential and then Jack [Colback] went on to get his goal.
Every time we were under pressure we were able to regain control of the game.
I'm very happy for Jack too; it was an important goal at 2-0 up and it sealed the game for us.
Bridcutt had a great debut, and looked very assured in what was a high-profile game. IT gives him a great chance to push on and claim the place permanently from Lee Cattermole.
Ki had a very good game too, as is noted by Poyet too, he got even more involved and came to the fore in the second half after a quiet first.
Jack Colback though. That's the kind of performance we've wanted from him for years now. Absolutely magnificent all day and thoroughly deserving of his goal.
