Gus Poyet took time out in his post-match press conference to give praise to goalscoring duo Fabio Borini and Adam Johnson after the 3-0 win at Newcastle today;
Fabio [Borini] missed out on taking one at Old Trafford and it was a great feeling for him to take the penalty today.
You need to take those chances when you come somewhere like St James' Park - if you get a penalty you must score it, Fabio did just that and gave us the platform to go on and win the game.
Newcastle started pushing players forward and we had to make the most of that space. We were getting forward and taking advantage of that.
Adam [Johnson] is on fire at the moment, scoring another goal - the team are in good shape.
It doesn't take a genius to realize Adam Johnson is in the form of his life at the moment, while it's good it hasn't gone unnoticed that Fabio Borini is the architect of just as much of our recent good play.
Both have been immense since Gus came in and look like completely different players. Both put in strong claims for Man Of The Match in the Tyne-Wear Derby.
