Reports: Poyet The Man For Sunderland

According to the very well connected Gianluca Di Marzio, Gus Poyet is the man for Sunderland.

We should remember that Di Marzio, who works for Sky Italia, has been first to make people aware of recent Sunderland news, including the signing of Emmanuele Giaccherini and the sacking of Paolo Di Canio.

It has been suggested that Poyet is the man to beat. Sunderland are set to explore other options and allow them the opportunity to wow the board, but at the minute Poyet is the man to beat following a meeting with the Uruguayan last night away from the North East.

No decision has been made, nor has it been decreed that Poyet will for certain get the job, however he is very much in pole position.

The Sunderland board were very impressed with the style of football Poyet employed at Brighton during his tenure there, and favoured him over Paolo Di Canio at the time the Italian was appointed.

Sunderland may well just get their man this time around.
