A quick look at the odds on who will replace Paolo Di Canio as Sunderland's Head Coach reveals that there's one out-and-out favourite for the position.
Two markets have opened so far, one via BetVictor who jumped on it before Di Canio was even gone, and SkyBet have also joined in the fun. Both of whom make former Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo the odds on favourite to take the position.
Di Matteo would be a solid choice, and like or loathe him, he has managed to get results consistently in his managerial career. However on the flip-side, it's rumoured the club wanted to talk to him pre-Paolo Di Canio, and he was unwilling to move to the North East.
Away from that there's a mix of scary choices such as Tony Pulis, Alex McLeish and Steve McClaren. There's also some intriguing if high-priced options such as Jurgen Klinsmann, Ralf Ragnick and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
In the eyes of many, this is Di Matteo's job to turn down. If he did, a little gamble on Gus Poyet might bring you a little bit of pocket money.
