McFadden Signs For Motherwell

It's official, get the bunting out as one of the most pointless signings in our recent history has moved back to former side Motherwell.

Scottish Premier League side Motherwell have signed James McFadden on a permanent deal after his contract at Sunderland - shock horror - was not renewed. The club have signed him through to the end of the season.

The former Scottish international started his career with Motherwell and is in line to make his second debut for them this weekend having recently been training with the side and watched from the stands as they beat Inverness Caledonian Thistle last weekend 3-0.

McFadden's career at Sunderland isn't likely to be one anyone will look back on particularly fondly, if indeed they ever look back at it at all. During his time here he managed only three Premier League substitute appearances, totaling 34 minutes.

For more pointless stats simply to pad this out a bit more in addition to simply compound his torrid spell at Sunderland he managed to complete only nine passes during his 34 minute spell at the club, putting his accuracy at 60%. He failed to register a shot at goal, let along a shot on target and played in just the one cross.

Anyway, there's no chance he's coming back any time soon.
