We Want You: Come Be A Roker Report Writer!

We're looking to add to our writing ranks here at Roker Report, and it could be you. As the site has grown so has the demand for content. Sadly, so has the demand on our time so we need another pair of hands around the place.

Do you think you're up to the challenge? Well here's what we're looking for...

Obviously being a Sunderland fan goes without saying, as does a decent grasp of English. We also need someone who can write quickly and efficiently and hit deadlines. One thing you'll definitely need too is a sense of humour and an opinion on all things Sunderland -- fence-sitters need not apply.

What you'll be doing with us is the same as everyone else here. Writing up the occasional news story, appearing on the podcast occasionally, do a bit of match coverage and of course chip in with opinion pieces now and then.

We can't offer any money particularly to you. In fact we can't offer any. We can let you know that if you're interested in writing and you love Sunderland this is a bloody good place to come and do it. Writers of ours have gone on to get plenty of paid writing work elsewhere after proving themselves here, as well as doing pieces for ESPN, the BBC, FourFourTwo, Metro, Sky Sports and TeamTalk among many others, and your work will be read by thousands on a daily basis.

So if you think you're up to the challenge and you are what we're looking for, then here's what you need to do.

Send an email to rokerreport@gmail.com with the following;

I) Who you are.

II) Why you think we should pick you.

III) Tell us any relevant writing experience you have.

IV) Send us (in Word format) an opinion piece on anything currently to do with Sunderland, as long as you like, no word limits.

Deadline: Friday 11th January (Unless someone blows our socks of beforehand).

Are you making a FanPost? Well that's fantastic, just keep it tasteful.
