Elmohamady Returns From Loan

Ahmed Elmohamady has returned from his loan at Hull City, and could be pushing for a part of the first team picture here at the Stadium Of Light.

Ahmed Elmohamady has seen his season long loan at Hull City cut short by manager Martin O'Neill as he looks to fill out a depleted squad.

For the second time in as many weeks O'Neill names only six substitutes from a possible seven against Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday night, and it continues to fit in with the current transfer strategy of one in, one out.

David Meyler and Ji Dong-Won both left earlier this month for Hull City and FC Augsburg respectively, while Alfred N'Diaye and Kader Mangane have come in to replace them. With Louis Saha being told he's free to leave, and strong suggestions a move to the South African PSL is close to completion, Elmohamady comes to take that slot.

Reports on Humberside suggest that Hull remain confident they can get a permanent deal done for Elmohamady, and it's not something O'Neill has ruled out, as he told The Journal yesterday;

I would still be looking to get some more people in before the end of the month. And I would certainly want more people in before we would even think about letting anyone else out.

Elmo will likely have to get used to being on the bench again after a successful loan at the Tigers, which saw him become a firm fans favourite.
