Today is May 3rd, and on this day in 1997, you'll remember that the last league game at Roker Park took place, as we beat Everton 3-0 thanks to goals from Paul Stewart, Chris Waddle and Allan Johnston, although it was a particularly tainted season which ultimately ended in relegation.

Apparently we're chasing FC Twente winger, Ola John. Or at least we were at some point, but the chase is over now as he is set to snub us and Aston Villa and move to Benfica.
