Hello there, and welcome back to the Roker Roundup, the only place you need to go to find what's worth reading about in the world of Sunderland AFC today.
So here's what we've stumbled across today, February 15th. A day noted in history for Britain changing to decimal currency in 1971. It's also Matt Groening's birthday, and in 1908 Sunderland slumped to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Middlesbrough, George Holley netting our only goal.
Still, things have come a long way since then, so let's see what's happening tonight...
John O'Shea's been a bit feisty of late. First of all telling us he's looking to exact revenge on Arsenal this weekend for the league defeat, and now that everyone moaning about James McClean's exclusion from the Ireland squad that we should just get over it and his time will come - CLICK HERE
Youngster's futures being sortted out, and whilst Louis Laing has stayed at Wycombe Wanderers, John Egan has returned from Crystal Palace, and feeling much better for going. He's not looking to make a push on the first team. Defenders are dropping like flies, so why not - CLICK HERE
Meanwhile the luck of Trevor Carson continues to be out. Rarely featuring for... well... anyone, and now no longer wanted by Hull City where he sat on the bench for a bit. He's back at the club, but the Tigers did have nice things to say about him - CLICK HERE
Possibly the final piece of dealing for the young guns comes with Jordan Cook, currently away at Carlisle United. They're impressed, and their manager, Greg Abbott wants to keep him there. Can't see the problem if he's getting games - CLICK HERE
Stephane Sessegnon's been continuing to make his mouth go too. In a good way of course. This time singling out Jack Colback and Craig Gardner's recent improved form, not to mention the fans once again, who he has a great amount of time for - CLICK HERE
And lastly, in Martin Tyler's weekly stats column on the Sky Sports website, he's answered a few questions. None of them particularly pertain to Sunderland, but it's interesting we're +3 for goal difference on goals from corners, and about middle of the pack if the league was entirely away games - CLICK HERE
