Sunderland Vs West Bromwich Albion: Confirmed Lineups

Clive Rose

Sunderland are looking to make it two wins on the bounce, while West Bromwich Albion are looking to prove they're the real deal and keep themselves in contention for a European place. The teamsheets are in, so let's see who's charged with these tasks for today's match.

Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill has opted to stick with the same side which defeated Fulham 3-1 at Craven Cottage last weekend, meaning no place in the starting lineup for Craig Gardner following his return from injury. Craig did find a place on the bench though at the expense of Connor Wickham.

Sunderland (4-4-1-1): Simon Mignolet; Phil Bardsley, John O'Shea, Carlos Cuellar, Danny Rose; Adam Johnson, Lee Cattermole, Jack Colback, Seb Larsson; Stephane Sessegnon; Steven Fletcher

Substitutes: Keiren Westwood, Fraizer Campbell, Craig Gardner, Louis Saha, James McClean, Matt Kilgallon, David Vaughan.

Meanwhile West Bromwich Albion find themselves on a good run at the moment, and last time out garnered an impressive win over Chelsea.

Steve Clarke has made a couple of changes from the one which beat Chelsea, with Gareth McAuley coming in for Gabriel Tamas. Chris Brunt also returned to skipper the side as James Morrison resorted to a more midfield role.

Yusuf Mulumbu, who I happen to think is one of the more underrated players in the Premier League, misses out with hamstring injury.

West Bromwich Albion (4-2-3-1): Boaz Myhill; Billy Jones, Gareth McAuley, Jonas Olsson, Liam Ridgewell; Claudio Yacob, James Morrison; Peter Odemwingie, Chris Brunt, Zoltan Gera; Shane Long

Substitutes: Luke Daniels, Romelu Lukaku, Goran Popov, Marcus Rosenberg, Gabriel Tamas, Graham Dorrans, Marc-Antoine Fortune
