Fulham Vs Sunderland: Confirmed Lineups

Stu Forster

The lineups are in for today's game against Fulham at Craven Cottage, so if you're after finding out who's charged with bringing three points back to Wearside then look no further...

Martin O'Neill chose to drop James McClean to the bench as he made a few changes from the game with Everton.

Lee Cattermole returned from injury to retake the captaincy, and start alongside Jack Colback in the middle of the park. Steven Fletcher and Phil Bardsley also overcame fitness worries which kept them out of the midweek Scotland game against Luxembourg.

Craig Gardner misses this one through suspension having accumulated five yellow cards.

Sunderland (4-4-1-1): Simon Mignolet; Phil Bardsley, John O'Shea, Carlos Cuellar, Danny Rose; Adam Johnson, Seb Larsson, Lee Cattermole, Jack Colback; Stephane Sessegnon, Steven Fletcher

Substitutes: Keiren Westwood, Fraizer Campbell, Connor Wickham, Louis Saha, James McClean, Matt Kilgallon, David Vaughan.

Fulham boss Martin Jol chose to keep things relatively simple, but still opted for a few changes from the Whites last game.

Experienced Greek midifelder Giorgios Karagounis gets the start in midfield alongside Steve Sidwell, while Damien Duff - often a nightmare for us - also makes a rare start on the right of midfield.

The hit and miss front man of Bryan Ruiz starts alongside the ever-present danger of Dimitar Berbatov. Hugo Rodallega has to make do with a spot on the bench.

Fulham (4-4-2): Mark Schwarzer; Sascha Reither, Aaron Hughes, Brede Hangeland, John Arne Riise; Steve Sidwell, Giorgios Karagounis, Alexander Kacaniklic, Damien Duff; Bryan Ruiz, Dimitar Berbatov

Substitutes: David Stockdale, Stephen Kelly, Philippe Senderos, Hugo Rodallega, Ashkan Dejagah, Alex Smith.
